JackRabbit and DeltaV performance updates

Scalable Informatics JackRabbit and DeltaV systems continue to dominate spinning disk competition in raw and end user acheivable performance.  Testing using commonly available load generators indicates significant performance advantages to this platform.  RAID6 is used on all platforms unless otherwise noted.

Tests conducted in May and June 2011 of current model JackRabbit JR4 machines in lab have demostrated sustained 2.2+ GB/s streaming read and write for TB sized files.  The same tests performed with our 5U JR5 machine have demostrated sustained in excess of 3.6 GB/s write, and 4.6 GB/s read performance, again, for TB sized files and larger.  Many competitors storage clusters, never mind their individual units, are unable to achieve these performance numbers, and often express their performance in terms of "theoretical" results.  We've measured, we know what our units are capable of.

Our lower cost storage target, DeltaV, is also a fast unit.  Designed to keep acquisition and lifetime costs down, these systems leverage Scalable Informatics IP in our tuned kernel, driver, and RAID stacks.  These systems have been highly tuned to a variety of workloads, and provide unbeatable overall price performance.  Recent testing on a DeltaV DV4 unit has demonstrated a sustained 1.3GB/s write, and a 2.1 GB/s read for 128 GB of data.

No SSD or Flash was used for caching in any of these measurements.  These units are available immediately.
